Questions?

See below for answers of questions we commonly get asked! If you're still curious about anything, feel free to reach out over on our Instagram @ltu_dphie!

What’s recruitment like? Is it rushing? How does it work?

At LTU all Greek organizations participate in recruitment rather than rush. There’s no competition and it’s a mutual agreement between an org and a potential new member. During recruitment week, we take time to get to know you and discuss among the chapter if you would be a good fit and match our values. If you are, we will give you a bid at the end of recruitment to join us! There’s no obligation to, but it’s an official offer to become a part of Delta Phi Epsilon.

What happens after I accept a bid?

If you decide to join, you will start a five week program with our New Member Educator to learn more about the sorority. Each week will have one roughly hour long class about a different topic. At the end of the program is when you get matched with your big and get initiated! If at any point during the process you decide you don’t want to join, that’s totally ok, just let the President know!

What’s the time commitment?

Every week we have a chapter meeting that’s usually about an hour long that all active members need to attend. If you have any positions, you will also have to attend a meeting with the team your position is a part of which may also take an hour. However, active members are not required to hold any positions, so one could only need to go to the chapter meetings and any events/fundraisers we put on. If you still have concerns, feel free to reach out to any of our members and ask them about their schedules and time management!

Would I need to pay anything?

If you decide to become a new member, you will only be charged an initiation fee for the remainder of the semester. After that semester, you will be charged dues once per semester for when you’re active. The price of dues vary each semester depending on the amount of active members are currently in the sorority.

Will I be forced to go to parties?

No, you won’t ever be forced to go to a party you don’t want to go to, they’re not a requirement. Plenty of sisters have decided not to go to any and we respect that it’s not for everyone!
